Have you considered baking?

Hey guys!!! Welcome to the new people and welcome BACK to the ones that have been here!!!
Sooooooo full transparency I am back in counseling, just to get to know myself after having kids and turning the big 33! I am trying to learn how to set boundaries!! Something that I didn't think I actually needed but even Jesus had to set a time to pray and to be separated from people Luke 5:16.
I also learned that I don't know how to sit still! I get frustrated when I have too much to do but then I'm searching for things to do when I don't have anything on my calendar. Sooooo I decided that I am definitely in my rest season also, that I need to work on my patience.
Now lets get into it! I know you're wondering why I asked you if you have considered baking? I'm asking you because I was last week years old when I realized that I could acutally follow a cookie recipe IF I followed instructions.
Lets pause! Raise your hand if you follow ALL baking instructons to the T. In case you're wondering my hands are still on the keyboard because I can't relate! That poses the question, "How well are you following Gods instructions"? Again, my hands are on the keyboard!! When I was doing my daily reading I came across Psalms 91:9 Because you have made the Lord my refuge, the Most High your dwelling place.
How many of us dwell in the lord?
According to Google the definition of dwell is = to live or stay as a permanent resident; reside. to live or continue in a given condition or state: to dwell in happiness.
Again, I can't raise my hands because I sometimes do and I sometimes don't dwell in the Lord. What I can say is that I am striving to dwell in his presence and I'm trying to do my best.
Now back to the top! I asked if you considered baking because, it's something that you can't rush! You have to have the exact measurements and some of them have to be room tempertaure. I decided to take up bread making! I went out last night to purchase a dutch oven I then got started on the dough. It was around what 10 -11 pm I believe when I started the process. I mixed the flour, yeast, and room temperature water. The recipe stated to allow the dough to rise for 12-18 hours!!! When I checked the bread at 12 hours it was no where near ready!! When I came back around 15 hours it had doubled in size. After that I had to put the dutch oven in the oven for 30 mins to get it hot. Bake the bread for 30 mins covered and then another 10-15 mins uncovered. After allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll of that my bread was finally done! I ended up having to cut the bottom layer off because the parchment paper stuck to the bottom of the bread hahahahha. Over all the bread was awesome and further more I am so impressed with myself that I put my mind to it and I followed through!
It honestly reminded me of the story in the Bible when Elijah asks the widow to make him bread 1 Kings 17:8-16. This story made me think "can you imagine taking all this time to make bread and then someone comes over and asks you for some"? It was funny because I too had ran out of flour!!! I had to ask my daughter to get my phone and push record so that I could voice text my neighbors and ask them for flour. I literally had dough all over my hands at 10 pm at night. My neighbors didn't respond to the text until the next day, so I washed my hands got myself and the kids dressed and we went to the Japanese grocery store to get flour. At this point I had to see it through!
Baking made me stop and realize that just like God we need all of the ingredients to be at the right temperature and consistency to ensure that the product comes out well. We have to trust HIS process and HIS timing Jeremiah 29:11. Such as the widow did, in 1 Kings and once she trusted Elijah she was blessed with endless flour and oil 1 Kings 17:16.
As always I pray that this message blesses you and that you share it with someone that could use it.
Remember to trust in HIS timing
Find a skill that teaches you patience (if you lack it)
Your blessing is coming
Scriptures Used
Luke 5:16 - But he would go away to lonely places, where he prayed.
Psalms 91:9 - You have made the Lord your[a] defender, the Most High your protector
1 Kings 17:8-16 - Then the Lord said to Elijah, 9 “Now go to the town of Zarephath, near Sidon, and stay there. I have commanded a widow who lives there to feed you.” 10 So Elijah went to Zarephath, and as he came to the town gate, he saw a widow gathering firewood. “Please bring me a drink of water,” he said to her. 11 And as she was going to get it, he called out, “And please bring me some bread, too.”
12 She answered, “By the living Lord your God I swear that I don't have any bread. All I have is a handful of flour in a bowl and a bit of olive oil in a jar. I came here to gather some firewood to take back home and prepare what little I have for my son and me. That will be our last meal, and then we will starve to death.”
13 “Don't worry,” Elijah said to her. “Go on and prepare your meal. But first make a small loaf from what you have and bring it to me, and then prepare the rest for you and your son. 14 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The bowl will not run out of flour or the jar run out of oil before the day that I, the Lord, send rain.’”
15 The widow went and did as Elijah had told her, and all of them had enough food for many days. 16 As the Lord had promised through Elijah, the bowl did not run out of flour nor did the jar run out of oil.
Jeremiah 29:11 - I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for
1 Kings 17:16 - As the Lord had promised through Elijah, the bowl did not run out of flour nor did the jar run out of oil.
