Hello!!! I am just loving meeting you 1X a month and on time, roughly! I pray that I get this post out before the clock strikes midnight! I usually will start writing at the top of the month and then somewhere along the line be like "I'm late for an important date." I am truly trying to seperate from laziness and procrastination! I'm stirivng to be the best version of me for me!
Welcome in if it's your 1st time and welcome back if you've been here before! Please share this with someone that might benefit from it.
I like to start off with definitions.
Portion
According to Bing's copilot answer "portion" in the bible means
When someone says, "God is my portion," it signifies that the Lord fulfills every need and is the true source of happiness and blessing, providing far more than material possesions.
Okkkk, thank you Bing! I was on the line with my BFF the other day and she mentioned something and I immediately said "that's not your portion." It's been on my mind for a few days and I just wondered what if we started claiming things we don't agree with and say "that's not my portion".
Now I can't speak for you but I know sometimes I will let people say something even when I don't agree for arguments sake. Butttt how dumb is that? People shouldn't just come to me with any and everything! Can you tell that I'm reading a bible plan about boundaries?!
As I've been thinking I only want the portion that God has for me! Lets face it that's the only portion that I know is best for me! So today I want to encourage you to setup or enforce your boundaries andddd to only speak on what your portion is! God puts us in certain places for certain things so even though you might not be where you want to be use what you have where you are. Trust Holy Spirit to guide you to be where you need to be. If that job is raggedy start applying before it gets to be too much, if the house is making you feel overwhelmed get a chore chart or hire some part time help and ask your spouse for help!
Know where your portion is so that you may be blessed! Stop letting the devil think he has power! I can only speak to you from experience.
Let's practice saying "not my portion"
Being overworked = not my portion
Settling = not my portion
Not standing up for myself = not my portion
Not nipping it in the bud = not my portion
Not asking for help = not my portion
Not listening to my body = not my portion
As always here are some scriptures to hold you over until we meet again
Psalms 119:57 CSB - The Lord is my portion; I have promised to keep your words.
Numbers 18:20 CSB - The Lord told Aaron, "You will not have an inheritance in their land; there will be no portion among them for you. I am your portion and your inheritance among the Israelites.
Psalms 16:5 CSB - Lord, you are my portion and my cup of blessing; you hold my future.
Lamentations 3:24 CSB - I say, "The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in him."
Do you see in just these few scriptures how the Lord tells us that HE is our PORTION! Let's listen and allow him to be our portion.
Above I mentioned a bible plan called Boundaries 101. Here it is if you want to check it out!
I pray that you have found this post useful and that you share it with someone that can use it!
