Hellllooooo and welcome back!!

It feels soooo good to be doing something that I love which is writing and creating! If you don't know I had a baby a year ago!

Thank you Jesus for a safe pregnancy, delivery, and post partum!

This time around was very different in many aspects such as giving birth abroad and without my mom! I can always bet my last dollar that my mom will be there whenever and wherever!

Looking back I feel like I didn't give myself the time to grieve the things that were changing in my life or things that were going to look different. I immediately jumped back into the full swings of things.

  1. I have 2 older kids and they had school and I needed to be available for them

  2. I didn't think I needed to slow things down because I had done this 2X before right??!!

WRONG!!!!

I had a plan but it fell through! I had a person but she fell through! My husband sprained his ankle the night before I had my baby so I was anxious and worrried especially about my 2 older kids. I was thinking OH EM GEE! They can't be in the hospital while I give birth and I'm not thrilled to have them stay at anyone's house while I deliver because I have no idea when that will be and mostly because I didn't want to! I didn't want my kids at someone's house while they are already enduring a time where nothing is "certain." I also didn't want them to go to sleep worried and then wake up realizing that they had been left with our friends while they slept.

Side note: I am getting more comfortable with saying "no" and "sorry"....half of the time I'm not sorry and it has become something that most of us just say.

I believe when major events happen such as siblings being born that kids DESERVE the right to know what's going on. I don't like leaving my kids out of the loop unless its 100% necessary.

The title is titled "whooooo" because I have been holding my breath since my father passed away! Ever since then I don't know if I have been living life to the fullest but after having the 3rd baby I truly just don't know! People say it's hormones and give yourself grace and this and that. Don't we know ourselves well enough to know that something is off?

This post is probably one of the rawest, I have been written thus far! With everything going on in the world I wanted to be transparent and real about where I am and where I'm going. I can tell you that I have NO IDEA where God is taking me because this season has looked very different in the sense of I haven't MADE time to get in my word as often and I have noticed that he's meeting where I am. A lot of what I have been feeling has been just that FEELINGS. Something my dad would always say is that "feelings aren't facts." I've been living in my feelings and that is definitely the problem.

The other problem is that I have put too much on my plate without a prayer for guidance or a prayer for clarity. I have just been out here doing things. The BIGGEST problem of all is DISTRACTION! The enemy will use distractions as a way to get you off your game. What are you listening to? What are you doing? Sometimes I just want a hard RESET!

This post really wasn't for you it was FOR ME. For me to get my thoughts down on paper (yes, I realize this is a digital platform)and to make it make sense. I can't hear God if I'm doing everything besides talking to him.

With technology I feel like some of us have lost brain cells! We are too accessable with our time and our focus. Rememeber when you had to plug in the phone to use dial up to use the computer? If someone called they couldn't get through because the line was busy! They had to wait until the line was clear. Everything stopped when the interent was on dial up! No one could call in or out! What if we went back to that time? Put our phones on DND when we pick the kids up from school, let the kids play in the backyard while we cook dinner or better yet have them join, remove things from our calendar!

This is what I meant by a RESET. It's the holiday season and it's time to celebrate and be with family and friends. Take this time to get to know God, your husband, and your kids.

Start by asking God what he needs from you and after this month clearing the sports and activites! Let's get back to the basics! Let's be dedicated to the Lord and give him more of US.

As always I pray that this was a blessing to you and that you share it with someone else.

Scriptures:

Luke 5:16 CEV - But Jesus would often go to some place where he could be alone and pray.

Proverbs 18:10 GNBDC - The Lord is like a strong tower, where the righteous can go and be safe.

Jeremiah 29:11 AMP - For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,' says the Lord, 'plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

I used AI to create the image below. I wanted to show a mom taking a deep breath and that was to represent how it feels after connecting with Jesus! After connecting with him it feels like a DEEP BREATH!
