Hey to whomever is reading this,
I'm not sure where to start so I'll just start. Ever just throw your all into something? Like no questions asked? You put everything you had on it and that was it? You did all that and it seemed like it was for nothing. You even fasted and prayed and prayed and fasted and the outcome didn't end how you wanted it to? Yes, because me too! I had to recently go to God and let him know that I was truly upset and just hurt because I really thought this was it. I have been a stay at home mom without any income of my own for 15 months. Thank God for my amazing husband who provides for us! I started a business a few years ago actually while I was still pregnant with my daughter. Since then it has been on and off just like this blog for 5 years. About last year I decided that I was going to do my business full time. So after I did that on and off again just last night I said ok that's enough. I just don't think this is it for me. Now you're probably thinking wow this story is about to get better. Fast forward it doesn't! I say all of this to say that it's ok to know what you are good at and what you aren't good at. There is a saying that "practice makes perfect" well I don't believe that and I don't plan on teaching my kids that. You can practice something often but that doesn't mean that you will make it or that you will be good at it.
What I do know is that even when I'm mad, upset, happy, excited, or any other emotion is that GOD is always there. Unlike my emotions God never changes, he is the same all the time. I'm telling you this story because you have to know what is good for you and what isn't. Also, to remind you that just because someone else does something it doesn't mean that you will have the same success doing it. What I have is for me and what someone else has is for them. I'm telling you this so that you can pray and find out what God needs you to do! Don't run! Don't make excuses! Pray! Pray that you will find the thing that comes easy to you, that you find the thing that you enjoy doing. This morning I read the prayer by Nehemiah which I think is a great place to start.
Nehemiah’s Prayer
4 When I heard these words, I sat down and wept. I mourned for a number of days, fasting and praying before the God of the heavens. 5 I said,
Lord, the God of the heavens, the great and awe-inspiring God who keeps his gracious covenant with those who love him and keep his commands, 6 let your eyes be open and your ears be attentive to hear your servant’s prayer that I now pray to you day and night for your servants, the Israelites. I confess the sins[a] we have committed against you. Both I and my father’s family have sinned. 7 We have acted corruptly toward you and have not kept the commands, statutes, and ordinances you gave your servant Moses. 8 Please remember what you commanded your servant Moses: “If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the peoples. 9 But if you return to me and carefully observe my commands, even though your exiles were banished to the farthest horizon,[b] I will gather them from there and bring them to the place where I chose to have my name dwell.” 10 They are your servants and your people. You redeemed them by your great power and strong hand. 11 Please, Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant and to that of your servants who delight to revere your name. Give your servant success today, and grant him compassion in the presence of this man.[c]
I pray that this has helped you.
Celebrate life,
J. Rose
