Hello there,
A few days ago me and the kids went to see the Sakura or the Cherry Blossom trees. It's a "must see" thing to do here in Okinawa. Surprise! We're a military family and we live in Okinawa, Japan. I wanted to go see the trees the first few months that we got here but it was very cold and when we went exploring it was still cold and the trees weren't blossomed yet. I am so grateful that we were able to see the trees this season. I said a prayer and loaded us up in the car and we hit the road. It took about 40 minutes to get to the park but it was worth it! Thee were so many trees all around us and we ended up seeing a old train named the D51 222.
The train is stationed inside of the park around a fence. The train isn't in service anymore but it was brought over from Mainland several years ago. It was cool to see a piece of Japanese history. At the park we saw older men playing chess, we heard a man playing his saxophone, and overall it was just a great experience. A lot of people pay to see the cherry blossom tress and depending on when you go the tress might not have blossomed or they have blossomed some but they aren't as full as they can be. For me we waited extra long so that we could ensure that the trees would be their best selves.
In Okinawa the Sakura season is from January to February. According to Google the definition of Sakura is a flowering cherry tree. Also, according to different links on Google the Japanese culture uses cherry blossoms to remember life and death. Once the cherry blossom tree blooms you'll see a pretty pink flower and after a vey short time usually anywhere between a week-month the leaves fall off and then you'll have to wait until the next season which is the following year for the trees to blossom again.
The Sakura reminds me of our relationship with Christ. Only he knows when it is time for everything in our lives.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
A Time for Everything
3 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Remember that your season to blossom is coming! God knows when it's time to have you blossom and to show everyone your pretty pink flowers.
