The Power of No

Hey y’all!! Welcome back to all of the ones that have been here and welcome to the first timers (I promise you’ll love it here.)
I really try to have a post about every 2 weeks but we went a little longer. Do you forgive me? I promise I’m not the same as I was yesterday so I’m working on it.
How are you? Seriously! Take a moment to ask yourself and check in with yourself before you continue reading.
No!, nah, not really, ugh, blah, sort of, no thanks! Or how when someone or even you leaves someone on read without a response! No is a complete sentence! No can be said without even saying the actual word. No can be said in your body language.
Soooo why is it so hard to say “no”. Is it because when you’ve said no in the past someone didn’t want to be your friend? Or was it that someone only remembered the 1 time that you said no but never remembered the 2001 times that you said yes.
I have been working on saying “no”, for years at this point! It’s not like other people around me haven’t told me no but it was the guilt of saying no for me. How will they feel if I say no? Will they look at me differently if I say no? What if I need something and they tell me no?
Did you ever ask yourself those questions? If the answer is yes, do you know what emotion is leading those questions?
FEAR
We, well let me speak for myself, I am getting out of saying the word no when it is induced by fear. Fear is an emotion that we have, yes, but it's an emotion that satan likes to use to try to control us. Jesus doesn't use fear as a tactic to win our hearts or to even speak to us. We don't fall into a relationship with Jesus out of fear that if we don't he'll punish us.
Let’s be for real who cares?! When a person has to tell you no they tell you no and they sleep JUST fine at night.
In whatever way that you choose to say no just say it respectfully! Remember you owe no man nothing but to love him - Romans 13:8.
This past week I felt how freeing it was to say no and not to feel any guilt behind the word. What was even better was that I didn't feel the need to explain myself after I said no. I believe that we are conditioned to give a response as to why we are saying no but ever notice how we don't give a reason after we say yes.
When you call out from work your job asks you what is the reason for you calling out. Which I always felt was personal because what if it was related to your cycle or just down below in general?! Or how about it's just it's MY BUSINESS and I won't be in. Your job doesn't ask you why you came to work right? They expect you to come in because that's what you both agreed upon.
My mother says "if you don't question my yes then don't question my no."
As I was praying the other day I couldn't help but notice that I didn't know what the words meant that I was using. As I'm praying HS says stop here and lets research. A few months back, there was a prayer that I saw on IG that I liked so much so that I watched it a few times and wrote it down. At the end of the prayer it states "I decree and declare." All of a sudden I'm like our words have power but yet I don't know the definition of the words in my prayer. The two words were decree and declare.
Declare - to make known or state clearly, especially in explicit or formal terms.
Via dictionary.com
Decree - an order having the force of law.
Via merriam web
So what does that mean? It means that when we declare something we are stating a fact that we know to be true and when we decree something it is God endorsing his word/law/bible behind us.
We are to pray with faith that we have already received what we're praying for.
I was watching The Chosen today and what kept sticking out to me was that Jesus kept saying "because of your faith..." Mark 10:52. What can you accomplish because of your faith? What has God placed on your heart that you need to see through? What has your faith taught you? How strong is your faith? Do you have faith?
Ask youself the questions above and believe the promises that he made TO YOU! Nobody can question what God is doing in and for YOUR life.
As always I pray that this post was beneficial to you and I ask that you share it with anyone that may need it.
Scriptures used:
Romans 13:8 AMP - Owe nothing to anyone except to love and seek the best for one another; for he who [unselfishly] loves his neighbor has fulfilled the [essence of the] law [relating to one's fellowman].
Mark 10:52 AMP - Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith [and confident trust in My power] has made you well."
